Can students take classes at the tutors residence or another location?

Sure. Please speak to your tutor and he or she will be able to advise you.

I am unable to find a tutor to my liking. What should I do?

Please contact us and we will find you a tutor within 48 hours.

How do I pay the tutor?

We take payments on the first of each month through this website. We use the PayPal payment system which is fast and secure.  

How does my tutor get paid?

Tutors are paid on the first of each month after they have delivered all your lessons.

What if I want to change tutors?

No problem. Just let us and your tutor know and you can search for another tutor whenever you wish.

Will I have the opportunity to speak to the tutor before my first lesson?

Absolutely. We find that customers get the most out of a lesson if they have had the opportunity to firstly speak to their tutor. Our tutors are extremely helpful in this regard and welcome any enquiries you may have.

What if I need to cancel a lesson?

Students must give tutors 24 hours prior notice when rearranging/canceling lessons or forfeit their deposit  for that lesson. This is common practice among private(peripatetic) tutors, thereby minimizing inconvenience to the tutor.

I can not find a tutor in my area. What should I do?

Please contact us and we will try to find you a tutor within 48 hours.

Can I pay another way?

I'm afraid not. We've found that accepting online payments via PayPal is both efficient and safe for all concerned.  

What if my tutor can't make the lesson?

Tutors are paid on the first of each month for lessons delivered. You can simply rearrange the lesson with your tutor or if unable to do so, let us know before the 1st and we can hold back the payment. You could also pay for one less lesson the next month in the knowledge that you are owed a lesson.  

Can I change my lesson dates after I've made my booking?

 Sure you can. All you need do is inform your tutor of the change. 

Can I book additional dates?

  Yes. Just go to the bookings page, choose the tutor and book the extra dates.

Can I reduce the number of lessons I previously booked?

  Simply take the amount of lessons you desire and any remaining lessons can be carried over to the next month. 

What if I want a refund for the lessons that I haven't used?

  No problem. We can issue a refund immediately.

I've registered on your site. What do I do now?

 What to do first: 1. Create an account and add the names of the students. 2. Call 07877 123 370 or email us using the contact form with the answer to these questions. Is the lesson for an adult or a child? If for a child how old is the child? Which instrument? Your post code? Name of tutor(s) you would like to contact? Your availability?    We will have the tutor(s) contact you within 48 hours.

I am unable to contact the tutor via your website. I am having difficulties using the site.

 This is a new website (Beta version) and we are experiencing a few teething problems. If you are experiencing any difficulties please use the contact us form on the contact page or call us on 07877 123 370 and we can deal with your enquiry the good old fashioned way.

How much do you pay tutors?

Half hour lesson: £16, One hour lesson: £23, For group lessons add £4 per student up to  four students. So for a class of 2=£27, class of 3=£31 and class of 4=£35. Ater that tutors are paid £35 per hour for a group class with a maximum of 10 students.

I spoke to the customer and we have agreed on the next lesson dates. Should I attend?

Tutors should only attend lessons once they received a booking through the Music Tutors For You website. Once tutors receive a booking they will be notified via email and they can also see the details of the booking when they log in and view their dashboard. Without this confirmation we cannot guarantee payment.

By which method will I receive my payment?

We use the PayPal payment system which is fast and secure. 

When will I get paid?

Tutors are paid on the first of each month and are paid for any lessons they have delivered.

I've taught more lessons than the customer booked.

We can not pay tutors for lessons that have not been booked through the  Music Tutors 4 You  website. Please contact your student for the outstanding payment. Tutors should advise their students that they are unable to attend further lessons until all outstanding lessons have been booked.

How will I know if I've been booked?

 Music Tutors 4 You automatically sends tutors a notification email. You can at anytime view the details of any booking within your account dashboard.

How do I confirm lessons as taught?

 Your tutor dashboard should have a section called "Lesson details". In this section you should be able to see "customer", "lesson(s)", "Total price". Once you select the triangle to the left of the customer's name, you will be able to see more lesson details and the ability to confirm a lesson as taught by selecting "I have delivered this lesson". No other action is required. All delivered lessons are moved to the "Previous Lessons" section. Any lessons that you have not delivered will stay in your dashboard until you have delivered them. This will probably be done in the following month or whenever you have arranged to do so with the customer.
